01What we cover

Glass doors we repair and replace

Most glass door panels are tempered. That glass is made to order and cannot be cut on site, so the job runs in two parts: secure the door today, fit the glass once the pane comes in.

We handle sliding glass door repair, patio door glass replacement, hinged entry doors and French doors, residential and commercial. Our own techs do the work, not a call centre.

Sliding glass doors

Sliding glass door repair for cracked or smashed sliding panels, plus the track and rollers they ride on.

Patio doors

Patio door glass replacement for shattered or fogged panes in the moving and fixed lites of a patio slider.

Entry and front doors

Glass entry door repair for a broken or cracked glass insert in a front or side door.

French doors

French door glass replacement for a broken pane in one or both leaves, matched to the existing glass.

Tempered safety glass panels

Tempered, made-to-order door glass cut to the exact size, thickness and edge of the original.

Rollers, tracks and hardware

We do the glass. Rollers, tracks and door hardware get swapped out as needed while the panel is out.

02In an emergency

Can you replace sliding patio door glass?

Yes. Sliding patio door glass replacement is one of the most common jobs we do, for both the moving panel and the fixed lite beside it.

A patio slider runs as one large tempered pane in a frame. When it breaks we measure the opening, secure the door so it still closes and locks, and order the replacement pane in the right size and thickness.

Once the glass is in we lift the panel out, fit the new unit, and set it back on its track so it slides clean. Worn rollers get sorted while the panel is off.

Do you fix the glass or the door rollers?

Both. The glass is the main job, and we replace rollers, tracks and door hardware on the same visit when they are worn or seized.

  • The broken or cracked glass pane is what we replace first.
  • Rollers and the bottom track come out easily while the panel is off, so we sort them then.
  • If the door is hard to slide or will not lock, tell us and we will look at the hardware too.

What happens if you cannot get the glass today?

We secure the door the same day and come back to fit the glass once it is made. Door glass is tempered and made to order, so a same-day pane is rare.

  1. 1We clear the broken glass and make the opening safe to walk past.
  2. 2We secure the door so it still shuts and locks overnight, boarding the opening if needed.
  3. 3We measure the exact pane and order it from the supplier.
  4. 4We return and fit the new glass, then check the door slides and latches properly.
03Pricing

How much to replace a glass door pane?

It depends on the door and the glass, so we give you a range on the phone and a firm price once we see it. Door glass is priced per pane, not at a flat rate.

or request a quote online →

What drives the price:

  • Door type: a single entry-door insert costs less than a full-height patio slider.
  • Pane size: large sliding and patio panels use more glass and are heavier to handle.
  • Glass spec: a single tempered pane versus a sealed double-pane insulated door unit.
  • Whether rollers, the track or door hardware need replacing while the panel is out.
  • Same-day securing or board-up, billed separately from the glass itself.

A small single entry-door pane sits at the low end. A large sealed patio slider with new rollers sits at the higher end. You get the glass price before any glass is ordered.

04Two-part job

Why a glass door is secured first, then glazed

Annealed window glass can sometimes be cut on the spot. Door glass almost never can.

It is tempered for safety, which means it is sized and heat-treated at the factory and cannot be cut down once it is made. That is why we split the work: today we make your door safe, lockable and weather-tight, and order the exact pane.

When it arrives we come back and fit it. You are never left with an open door overnight.

05FAQ

Common questions

Is patio door glass tempered?

Almost always, yes. Patio and sliding door glass is tempered safety glass by code, because a door panel is a likely point of human impact.

Tempered glass is made to order at the size and thickness needed, so it cannot be cut on site. That is why we secure the door first and fit the pane once it comes in.

Can I still use the door while the new glass is on order?

Usually, yes. We secure the door so it closes and locks, and once the broken pane is cleared and covered the door itself keeps working.

A patio slider with the fixed lite boarded still slides, and an entry door with a boarded insert still opens and locks as normal.

Do you replace the glass in a French door?

Yes. French door glass replacement covers a cracked or smashed pane in one or both leaves.

We match the new glass to the existing panel, including tempered or sealed double-pane glass where the door uses it, and keep your existing door and hinges.

Is patio door glass single or double-pane?

Most modern patio and sliding doors carry a sealed double-pane insulated unit, tempered on both panes. Older doors can hold a single tempered pane.

We confirm which you have when we measure, since the replacement has to match the thickness and spec of the original.

Can you replace just the glass and keep my door?

Yes, in most cases we replace only the broken pane and keep your existing door, frame and hardware. That is faster and cheaper than a whole new door.

A bent slider or seized frame is a different job, and you will hear that from us on site, not after the invoice.

Do you handle both home and commercial glass doors?

Yes. We cover residential sliding and patio doors and commercial glass entry doors across Toronto and the GTA.

For a shop or office entrance broken in a break-in, we board up and secure the same night, then fit the door glass once it is ready.
